Hobyo DPRC formed under the Wadajir Framework

An eleven-member District Peace and Reconciliation Committee was selected by the local community in Hobyo under the Wadajir project framework following days of consultative meetings in December last year. The meetings, which started on December 23, was officially opened by the State Minister for Internal Affairs and local authorities of Galmudug State Hon. Omar Mohamed. In his opening remark, the minister asked Hobyo communities to take advantage of the Wadajir project, forgive one another, and reconcile through the various reconciliation forums. Communities in Hobyo sign social contracts

Community members in Hobyo district of Mudug region have signed a 13-clause social contract after two months of intra and inter-clan reconciliation. The contract was signed by selected elders from the different sub-clans during the District reconciliation conference (DRC). The three day conference was held between 19th – 21 May 2018 bringing together over 100 participants drawn from the different community segments including women, youth, minorities and the disabled among others.
