Drought and conflict made school enrollment rates in Somalia one of the lowest in the World. Only 30% of children have learning opportunities meaning up to 3 million children are out of school in the country.

With the support of Somalia Humanitarian Fund (SHF), CPD equipped 21 teachers and school committees drawn from Mogadishu’s Kahda, Dayniile and Dharkenley with important skills.

The Community education committees training held in late August focused on hygiene promotion, maintenance and management of learning spaces among other important topics.

This will boost the capacity of teachers and school committees and help them manage the institutions better.
